Am very glad to see that many of you have actually thoroughly enjoyed the camp though it was tough. Many years down the road you will definitely forget all of us but you will never forget the lessons learnt and experiences shared during these 3 days. Remember these words :

1. Choices have consequences

2.There no failures only learning experiences

3.All for one one for all

4. If I cant then i must there will always be a way.

5. Do it once do it good do it right

6. Say no to the good so you can say yes to the best

7. Your attitude determines your altitude

8. Whatever we do we do it EXCELLENTLY

So remember the important things you have discovered about yourself and the wonderful spirit of unity you all shared and made during the camp and lets have it burning brightly in you for the rest of your life! Congratulations Troopers!

Dear Troopers,

Well done for participating, showing up and putting in 100 per cent in the 52 HOUR live operation. The rewards that you reap you truly deserve because you worked hard for it. The new friends found and the memories made will definitely stay a lifetime. What is also essential is what you manage to take away from the camp, the valuable life lessons that you can now apply to your life!

1) You remember those times when you had to struggle to keep the discipline. But look at the rewards when you finally realised how much better it was to be disciplined. Not only did you enjoy yourselves but you found yourself doing and getting better and better. Remember discipline is something which you dont like to do now, but reaps future rewards. Lets use this experience to remind ourselves to be disciplined cos discipline now will lead to fun and joy later!

2) Choices have consequences. Each decision you make, you are given the power of choice. Remember you can always make choices in life. With each choice comes a consequence, so if you dont like your negative consequences change your choices. The future will not depend on the choices you make yesterday. Lets forget about the past. The future will only depend on the choices you make today. Yes act today. Take action.

3) All for one one for all. Were all in this together. Together we make a difference. We are not in this world alone, Remember how you came up the slippery slope together? Or how when you struggled during the long marches or consequences, you became stronger when you expeerienced it together? Remember together you make the difference for everybody. Lets us then work as a team in all aspects of our lives!

4) Whatever you do, do it excellently. The standard you shown you are capable of during live! operation is amazing. Just do the same for the rest of the things in life whether studies, CCA, family or personal life! Say no to the good so that you can say yes to the best! Do your best each and every day! Just do it.

Congratulations troopers, but remember the rest of your life of your destiny is in your hands, not mine. Take action today and make a difference. Because you only deserve the best for your self. Cos after completing this tough live! operation, an operation of your life to make you better, what is it in life that you cant conquer? Remember you are born to win. Choose to win, each and every BTSSian:) You deserve the victory of life!

GRADUATION PARADE

Before leaving for home, we suddenly realised how fast it has been. Time really flies when we are having fun. As the closing ceremony of the camp, we had a GRADUATION PARADE in which we were officialy promoted as Corporals of BEDOK TOWN Live! Operation. Each of the best tropeers were given a LIVE! op ID tag as an anchor of their good performance! We were also presented each with a bandana, as a symbol for us having persevered and showed discipline and determination over the past 2 days. It was a learning experience never to be forgotten and over here we really found out how discipline can really lead to fun! Like Captain Ridtz says, its not about what you do here, its what you take back to school and your lives that is important!

The Great Raid!

The finale activity of the day was called THE GREAT RAID. It was a life-sized version of RISK. Each platoon had to build islands and were given battleships to move around and attack each other. When we attack, we had to say the word CONTACTED! and squat down. Then we were tasked to a challenge by a PLATOON MENTOR who will decide the winner! We did all sorts of activities from success claps to one hand push ups just to win our ships and islands!!! We had so much fun and yet from this simple finale activity we learnt that if we put our hearts and minds to it, we can achieve anything!

In the afternoon, we assembled together to go for what is a cohort march. Captain Ridtz made a speech and asked us to give of us our best, cos we are ambassadors of BEDOK TOWN! Lets bring BEDOK TOWN spirit to  CHOA CHU KANG!:) It was a blast, we had a fun time walking and cheering and getting wet by MAJOR GOPAL along the way! it was a terrific bond that made us stretch the extra distance!

Early Morning Late at Night

This early morning, we had combat rations for breakfast. It looked like this :

Then we were given a map and went for what was called RECCE PATROL. Within a short time frame of 2 hours, we had to find 6 checkpoints on a combat map that had secret code. Then upon reaching the stations, we had to find some other secret code and unscramble it. From it we learned that as ONE MAN STRUGGLE, THE WHOLE TEAM STRUGGLES. ONE MAN TRIUMPHS THE WHOLE TEAM TRIUMPhs… cWe also learnt about resilience and determination to strive for EXCELLENCE, one of school values. I think we really had to work as a team because we had to carry a gazebo and jerry cans for water supply during the hike…Over here, we really appreciated that in order to be the best we need to struggle a bit, challenge ourselves a bit… and not be satisfied with what we have but always persevere for something better! Step outside comfort zone in the words of Captain Ridtz and Major Gopal.Tenacity as in the T in R2I2TE. In the end, even though it was sooooo tiring, we did it together and we really felt satisfied!

PASSING OUT PARADE

At night, and afer a full day of training, we were ready for the Passing Out Parade or POP. Here we were promoted to the rank of PRIVATE as we had completed the BMT successfully. Some of us were also given ID Tags to wear. This is a symbol of success as it reminds us that when we struggle we can only get better because it opens us to new possibilities. Captain Ridtz also talked to us about being winners in life and having a choice to succeed. He asked of us to prove it to ourselves to outdo ourselves and become better people than we were yesterday.

BASIC MILITARY TRAINING

The afternoon was spent at BASIC MILITARY TRAINING. We had to go through different drills and activities that tested our powers of resilience determination, and courage to go beyond our expectations and limits. We spent a lot of time doing consequences in the form of success claps and push ups cos of various reasons. It was tough but we now understand that each of us makes a difference for all of us. If only one person does not cooperate we will all suffer. And from this we learn an important life lesson…when one person struggle we all struggle, when one person triumphs we all triumph…we can choose to be selfish, however what purpose does it serve, when we are with our friends when we suffer together and when we struggle together, we find an each other a strength to carry on and go the extra distance…It has been a tough day, but we have learnt and grown so much….together!

Welcome to Choa Chu Kang Woods

We have successfully arrived at CAMP LEKAR off the CHoa Chu Kang Woods…this is the BEDOK TOWN SPECIAL FORCES training centre. We were divided into different groups with members from various classes. A downpour came down on us but we shall not be deterred. We started off the day by doing success claps. We had to put our hands 90 degree parallel to the ground and clap above our heads. It is said that the more we ckap the more successful we will be. We have learnt the word ‘stretch’, we stretch for goals we didnt think was possible before and in doing so we become stronger and learn that if we believed we definitely can. As the rain subsides, we are ready for our BASIC MILITARY TRAINING (BMT) and stand together to overcome all obstacles.

our group flag: Greenies!
